And so they form a single vine

If, like me, you believe the economic loss is worth it: please, stay home as much as you can. Don't go out, *don't* buy anything. Not just for your own direct protection, not just to avoid becoming a vector, but because the fewer customers there are the fewer people must go out to serve them. Even people who are unable (or unwilling) to make the decision for themselves to stay home from work can do it if there is simply no work to be done.
---
Meta-Boss told me last night that, "to accommodate everyone's hours" and "since [I] requested", I'm off from work today. He said he'll reassess next week (my "weekend" is Monday to Wednesday), but like, do you really expect business to get *better* in the next few days?
So, yeah, I'm guessing that my preemptive quarantine has now begun.
---
Mom gave Dad an ultimatum: today is her last shift until the all-clear. He can go to work if he insists, but she won't go with him, and he must wash his hands--*properly*--upon returning home.
He is unsure whether he will keep working: business is dropping even for delivery drivers, presumably because few people want to have to interact with him, touch things that others have recently touched. He asked her to watch him the first few times he washes his hands: she assumed he was being sarcastic at first, but no, apparently he genuinely does want her to tutor him on handwashing techniques and make sure he's doing it right. Maybe because it passes the "would we do this for a normal flu season" test: Mom and I *always* wash our hands upon returning home, all year every year.

(And wish me luck as I go out for the first grocery trip since every locked themselves up here due to city-wide shut-down)

>>Still have to share a kitchen with them, which is suboptimal.<<
For all our storage space, we only have one bathroom. Mom dreams of one day, when the List has been long since completed, renovating the ground floor. I disagree with her as to where we should put the living room, but I am all in favour of a small bathroom near the kitchen, and lately--*looks at food stocks scattered across five different rooms*--I've been coming around to her idea of a dedicated pantry room.
