Hey, what the fuck, Tumblr?
I mean, obviously I have many, many other copies of that post, but still, what the fuck.
(Note that, in something that might be irony given that the post is about Pillowfort, the OP *does* still exist.)
---
God, I *cannot* wait to officially deprecate Tumblr as a method of reading my old Tumblr posts. I want to watch [whatever the fuck they do next] from a safe distance.
Just now I reached a milestone: I finished the formatting pass on the pre-purge posts. I:
To make the archive fully usable in its own right--to make it independent of Tumblr--I just need to add in the posts from the past year. I may need to hurry my pace: while the post-adding *can* *broadly* be done from local backups alone, I would really rather have the originals available to work from, to make things easier and in case of exceptions.
(I also plan to add some links between posts in a sequence (for example, if you look at a post from the middle of a reply-via-reblog conversation, at the end you'll see a link to my next post in the reblog chain) and perhaps standardise on pluralised tags (for example, it's currently "vampires" but "werewolf", and I sometimes have trouble keeping track of which tags are plural and which are singular). But those are just nice-to-haves, and they can be done at any time, completely without regard to whether the original Tumblr posts are intact.)

Just now I reached a milestone: I finished the formatting pass on the pre-purge posts. I:
- Ensured all images were hosted on WordPress and not hotlinked from Tumblr (found a couple hotlinks that had been deleted from Tumblr! had to upload local copies!)
- Added OP names/links to uncaptioned image posts and (to the extent possible: Tumblr's quote attribution sucks) quote posts
- Added usernames of askers to ask posts
- Separated the unreadably-nested blockquotes of long reblog chains (short reblog chains stay nested)
- Replaced intra-blog links with their WordPress equivalents (this is how I found out that that Tumblr post had gone missing)
- Submitted other links (excepting links to previous users in a reblog chain) to the Internet Archive, if they were live but not already archived
- Added original-order tags to text blocks at the end of each post
- Removed commentary tags from the actual tagging system
- Added any category tags that I forgot to add at the time or wasn't using back then
