[arguably cw: illness, definitely general medical shit, (mild) needles]
Went to the allergy specialist today. Forty-eight pinpricks on my arms, and the only one that didn't come back negative was the one that was just pure histamine (to make *sure* something happens so that they have a point of comparison for the others).
Also, pure throat symptoms without nose involvement is not really indicative of an allergy, in general.
She said to try anti-histamines next time I get symptoms and see if that helps, and keep an eye out for the development of nasal symptoms, but from what she can tell right now it's probably not an allergy per se and so as an allergist there's nothing she can do.
---
I guess I'll wait until spring and if anti-histamines don't help I'll ask my GP what to do next? I don't really have a whole lot in the way of ideas here.
---
I'll keep using the allergy tag for this until and unless I get a more accurate descriptor.
