You seem like the kind of person for whom zero-cost superpowers are a no-brainer, so that kind of ties up the entire blue section.

If you get one off the list for free, though?

To be fair, not the *entire* blue section. I actively don't want to be a prime minister, president†, or astronaut. Too dangerous, too much responsibility.

I'm pretty iffy about weather control, too: that also seems like a lot of responsibility, and could easily lead to a scenario where you try to stop a natural disaster and end up desperately trying to keep the side effects from butterflying out of control and making things even worse.

Immortality is almost always the best superpower, yes. I think I'd like the *option* of dying just in case future-me decides she's had enough one day, but ideally I would *only* be able to die if it was consensual.

(I did once have a dream where one of the characters was a suicidal immortal, and what he ended up doing was first saving up enough money that the interest would fund his care indefinitely, then having himself put under perpetual anesthesia. Presumably the society currently keeping him under will eventually collapse and he will very unhappily wake up, but it was the best he could manage.)

†I was about to say "if I do nothing (but see the post I'm about to make just made), I will eventually be eligible for both", but I double-checked the restrictions on American presidency and I *just barely* don't meet the residency requirement: I've only spent 13 years and 10 months living there, not 14 years. If it's allowed to be non-consecutive (and it looks like they haven't really decided that but are leaning toward yes?), I suppose that would be relatively easy to fix.

This is all pretty much as I expected, very good thoughts.

Didn't think of the thing about weather control, I guess it depends on exactly how the power mechanics go. (certainly, I don't think most *superpowers* will come with weird butterfly consequences, but also with a big-scale power like that, once you save people from a hurricane once, that's going to be all you can do for the rest of your life, because people will hate you for anything less. To be honest, unless you have perfect magical consequence-free control over all weather always and always exercise it, I'm sure people will hate you. Being publicly known as "the weather-control guy" on a large scale means people will blame you for every weather-related death you don't prevent, because people are dicks like that. There will also be people who want to weaponize you and so forth, and weather-control is not that good at keeping the government from drugging you up in a van somewhere. So yeah, weather control is out, unless it's the shitty local kind that you can just use to win fights, which is also kinda trash)

(Edit: I didn't expect the prime minister/etc citizenship thing, but in this context, it's kinda trivia on the "who wants to be a politician" thought)
