(edit: part 1)

let us all take a moment to appreciate the existence of acetaminophen
I would be experiencing *so* much more moment-to-moment suffering without it, as I am reminded every time a dose wears off
---
(I was kind of dubious about taking antipyretics on, like, Chesterton's Fence grounds. Fever exists for a reason, right, even if it *is* miserable.
But, uh, I took my temperature just before a dose and again half an hour later, and while I no longer had the *subjective experience* of burning that I was having during the first read, my temperature had actually gone *up* slightly, from 99.9F to 100.1†. Feels too good to be true to say that this is the best of both worlds, to say that I can still burn the plague out without having to *feel* the flame, but one can hope.
(Apparently my thermometer beeps in a different pattern when you hit triple-digits. I appreciate your concern, thermometer.))
---
†note that I normally run cool, in the 96 - 98 range
