[cw: injury, illness, disordered eating, (arguably) death]

Everything seems fine, but given my symptoms he thinks it's worth going on amoxicillin for a week.
It has occurred to me to be worried about what it will do to my gut flora. Having Long Norovirus is actually *great* once you get used to it (the first couple months absolutely do suck), but I'm concerned that giving my digestive system another whack will "cure" it and I'll go back to having the appetite disorder that is extremely common in Westerners.
Of course the medical team assure me that amoxicillin is very mild and lots of people go on it and are fine, but people in this culture normalise having an appetite disorder so I don't particularly trust their assurances.
(I've been on amoxicillin before, but I didn't have Long Norovirus yet at the time.)
But you don't fuck around with possible jaw infections. If I end up struggling with excessive hunger for however many years, at least I'll *have* those years.
Here's hoping it doesn't come to that.
