Today it was time for the first HEPA filter replacement on the air purifier I bought at the beginning of the first Omicron wave.
I took a moment to reflect, contemplating how it has helped me. It removed countless cold viruses from the air around me, reducing the number of reinforcements the invading army received from me breathing my own air back in: likely it contributed at least somewhat to the infection being relatively mild. It blunted the impact of having to invite strangers into my home to fix pipes and caulk windows. It has presumably provided various subtle benefits, especially when someone burns something in the kitchen.
It's good to have another layer in my security.
