Came across this in the $5 bin at Walmart.

The front cover of a bilingual English/French DVD, titled (in English) 'Five Feet Apart'. The cover shows a teenage girl and a teenage boy, both wearing supplemental oxygen nosepieces, sitting on the floor facing each other. Part of a circular bin of miscellaneous DVDs is visible in the background.

The back cover of the 'Five Feet Apart' DVD. The slogan is 'When life keeps you apart, fight for every inch.' English version of the blurb: 'Stella (Haley Lu Richardson) is a vibrant, fun-loving 17-year-old. Unlike most teenagers, Stella has to spend much of her time living at a hospital as a cystic fibrosis patient. When Stella meets Will (Cole Sprouse), a charming and rebellious fellow patient, she feels a powerful connection — but restrictions dictate that she and Will maintain a safe distance between them. As their feelings grow, Stella and Will face a life-changing question: How does love feel when even a single touch is off-limits?' Pictures display a grinning teenage girl, a teenage boy sitting on a bed in the act of taking a selfie (or possibly having a video call), a closeup on the boy wearing his supplemental oxygen nosepiece, and the girl and boy sitting, socially distanced, along the edge of an indoor pool.

A closeup on the copyright date of the DVD: 2019.

I bet this movie has aged like raw hamburger. *Especially* the inevitable scene in which they clunkily explain the concept of social distancing to an audience presumed not to know it.

It probably affected my reaction that at the time I saw this, I'd spent much of the past two hours revelling in being able to walk the mall in safety.

A *mall*. I used to get sick a substantial fraction of the time after mall trips, especially multi-hour trips with lots of poking around and window-shopping. This time, I went to the mall, wandered around exploring for hours, and it was *fine*. I did not get sick. I wasn't even in significant danger of getting sick. I did get a lot of stares from the mostly-maskless fellow patrons, but it's not my fault that they're wrong have very different priorities.
