[fairly mild cw: poison]

Got a chance to do some preliminary testing a few days ago, and results suggest that desloratadine does *not* help with pollen-induced sore throats.
I'm not particularly surprised, nor am I all that disappointed. In the event that circumstances force me to eat my meals outdoors or otherwise get exposed to pollen on a frequent basis, I *could* very well tolerate having a chronic sore throat. (Especially if I'm still wearing respirators in *indoor* public spaces, so that the probability of a sore throat being disease-related is low.) The main test will be its effect on nasal symptoms, but I don't appear to be getting those from the current pollen mix.
