[arguably cw: nsfw text, rape] [AO3; Wayback] (OP by [archiveofourown.org profile] Ysabetwordsmith; in response to [archiveofourown.org profile] Lurker2) Five and a half years ago, I got Ysabet to add a content warning on her story "Touching Moments", which at one point attempts to hypnotise the reader (yes, I was pretty upset to have that sprung on me). Recently someone came through, found my comments on this, and went "wait, what? that's a thing? how concerned should I be about this being a thing?". I gave them some safe-sex lessons. [five comments, three of which are new]

[cw: (artwork of) blood and injuries, (arguably) drugs] [WordPress (Tumblr)] (OP by [tumblr.com profile] inz0913; in response to [tumblr.com profile] maryellencarter) Sleep deprivation may cause higher reblog rates of fanart depicting sleepy cuddling: further research needed.

[cw: death, apocalypse, unreality] [WordPress (Tumblr)] (OP by [tumblr.com profile] quasi-normalcy) In which I consider a creepypasta as a thought experiment.

[WordPress (Tumblr)] (OP by [tumblr.com profile] rustingbridges) Hand-moisturising techniques. [three comments]

[cw: Christmas, venting] [WordPress (Tumblr)] (OP by [tumblr.com profile] itsbenedict) Some Christmas-music radio stations, it turns out, are much worse than others.

And whenever we sort of stand around and go and shout and get angry at something, it's like maybe we should be a little bit more Canadian and look and say, I think I'm going to listen to the other side this time.

There is a blanket [cw: illness] on the rest of this post.

[Dreamwidth; Wayback] (OP by [personal profile] siderea; in response to anonymous] Sustaining tolerable risk levels in a COVID-endemic world. (*Y'all* already know me and know that my answer to this is going to involve respirators, but the Siderea commentariat mostly does not.) [two comments]

(I received 25 hits on my guide to elastomeric respirators over the following week and a half (and that's probably not even counting people using tracker-blockers), many with out-clicks on the where-to-buy links. I hope I've made some people's worlds that much brighter.)

[Dreamwidth; Wayback] (OP by [personal profile] siderea) Data on COVID vaccine effectiveness fadeout comes first from those countries that had the best vaccine access, which makes me wonder how applicable that data actually is to those of us who did First Doses First (since longer waits between first and second doses have often been beneficial for the effectiveness of other vaccines).

[cw: food] [Dreamwidth; Wayback] (OP by [personal profile] mindstalk; partially in response to [personal profile] mtbc) Mindstalk complains about how expensive stuff is and I gently point out that this is mostly because he is doing it wrong, food edition; also, cross-border grocery arbitrage isn't what it used to be (largely from Canadian food pricing/availability improving, rather than from America degrading). (Mindstalk didn't reply *directly* to my comment, but he did later mention going to No Frills on my advice.) [two comments]

[cw: food] [Dreamwidth; Wayback] (OP by [personal profile] mindstalk) Mindstalk complains about how expensive stuff is and I gently point out that this is *entirely* because he is doing it wrong, water edition; also, the emergence of Omicron. [three comments]

[cw: food, unsanitary, (arguably) poison] [WordPress (Tumblr)] (OP by [tumblr.com profile] tototavros) Things to eat while dealing with stomachaches.

[The Prepared; Wayback] (by Ari Allyn-Feuer) Remember how everyone said in a couple weeks we'd know a lot more about what to expect from Omicron? It's been a couple weeks: here's what we know. (Well, as of December 7th: I was hoping to get this roundup out sooner.)
