...I'm glad it's in a field where patronage *drops* during and after Christmas.
Remember how last year I had just one shift scheduled for the week after Christmas? This year I have...wait for it...*zero*.
(The implication that he can *get away with* giving me zero shifts this week is also great, because it implies that the government has *not* resumed banning unpaid sick leave. I hope that's permanent and not a special dispensation for the plague: there's always *some* disease going around, and it's still evil to coerce bosses into coercing employees into coming to restaurants sick even if the sickness is a ~mere~ cold.)
I will ensconce myself at home, while the aftermath of illegal Christmas parties burns around me.
(...or maybe it won't! The famed annual illegal St. Patrick's Day party taking over Ezra Avenue didn't happen this year! Almost every individual partygoer looked at the situation and said "look, normally I tell anti-party laws to go fuck themselves, but this year I *agree* with their justifications and breaking them would be a step too far", or at the very least "common knowledge that there will be a party on Ezra has been broken: I don't trust that anyone else will attend, so I won't bother to do it myself"; the Ezra Avenue "party" consisted of a small trickle of people showing up, looking around, noticing that nobody *else* had shown up, and leaving.)
