Also, I don't think it's that pleasure is Bad while work is Good. It's that safety is (at minimum) a higher priority than and (usually) a prerequisite to pleasure, and one works in order to obtain more safety.
(I suppose skydivers and the like would disagree, but that's not how *my* mind operates)
