[mild cw: illness]
The brand of pulse oximeter that The Prepared recommends is back in stock! USD$24 for U.S. residents, USD$31 if you want it shipped to Canada. (Amazon-CA doesn't carry it.)
We had a bunch of Amazon-US credit lying around from before the bottom fell out of the menial-Internet-labour market, so we used some of it on this. The package arrived today, trickling in as part of a collection of various things that Amazon-CA didn't carry and Amazon-US had reasonably-priced international shipping on.
It says my pulse is around the mid-70s beats per minute and my oxygen saturation is 99%. I was a little surprised to see my pulse so low, as I'd had the impression mine tended to be higher. OTOH, children and non-joggers both have higher average pulse rates, so perhaps my impression is simply outdated.
In any case, both figures are well within the healthy range given my current level of exertion (sitting still but upright). May it always be thus.
