Check out this neat bug I found!

A roughly cylindrical insect, pale yellow with black markings. Its large wings are at rest, held above its back. It has a long, thin tail: it is holding the two prongs of the tail together, so that they appear one.


Judging from this similar image on BugGuide.net, it's some kind of mayfly, possibly a golden mayfly. I've *heard* of mayflies before, of course, but I don't think I've ever actually seen one. Quite striking, isn't it?
