I've started being more careful about covering small cuts and the like in public, now that there's a novel† plague going around that (unlike COVID) does care about that sort of thing, and it turns out that wearing gloves in situations where I normally don't wear gloves messes with my contamination sense.
I got through my shift okay, and at the grocery store I didn't pull any sanitation maneuvers complex enough for it to make much difference (the glove didn't interfere with remembering not to touch my face, since there aren't any normal situations in which I would touch my face with gloves on), but it's like, my God, people *live* like this?
It's been so long, I'd forgotten how much of a pain in the ass it is to have to expend conscious effort on assessing which things to touch with which preparatory measures. (While it *could* be coincidence,) I feel noticeably more mentally drained after today's split than I did after last week's split.
