Home decorations are best obtained at garage sales, where nice decorations can be obtained for like two orders of magnitude (apparently?) less cost. (This does basically require "going to garage sales" to be your hobby or at least for you to be willing to be regularly ten minutes late to wherever you were driving as you regularly drive places, but that is true of my parents so it was true of me for most of my life, and I now have many objects with which to decorate my home)
