By "fake", do you mean "this game exists in name only, you cannot actually play it anywhere", or "this game exists but is not official, and was most likely made by heavily altering the code of one of the official games"?

(postscript: or maybe "this game is unofficial and was created out of whole cloth, probably badly"?)

It looks like there's a bunch of the second kind, fan-made "hacks", out there. But they are clearly marked as such. I think the first kind has probably been cleared up by the passage of time and the improvement of communication networks.
