Reference Post: Utility Belt Inventory, November 2023 edition

This comes up in conversation every so often, and my last public-facing inventory is now over five years old and noticeably outdated. Here, then, is a copy of my private inventory tracker adapted for public viewing:

Main compartment of main bag:

* Wallet (the glasses prescription is on my phone now, but I do have a bus pass)

* Shopping bag, folded into its attached pouch

* Notebook

* Paper medical tape (for sealing the edges on KF94s)

* Napkins (3x)

* Plastic bags of the sort used for picking out produce at the grocery store (3x, last I checked, but it might be more or less now)

* Kleenex

* Assorted Ziplocs (1 gallon, 1 quart, 3 sandwich)

* Steel drinking straw (lift up respirator, stick straw through gap, drink)

* Passport

Front compartment of main bag:

* Keychain (front door, back door, work, post-office box; I no longer keep this attached to the outside because one day the attachment fucking *broke* and I lost that whole set of keys for several months)

* Small penknife, with scissors and tweezers

* Small scrunchie

* Twisty tie

* Mini roll of duct tape

* President's Choice blueberry-yogurt fibre bar

* Nature Valley peanut butter granola bar (considering replacing this with a second fibre bar)

* Clip-on sunglasses

* 1-metre tape measure (bilingual: inches on one side, centimetres on the other)

* Pens (2x)

* Mini crayon set (rainbow, plus pink and brown)

* Sewing kit (needle, several colours of thread, button, small safety pin)

* Magnifying glass

* String (16 inches; stretchy)

* Mini Sharpie (blue)

* Safety pin (3x)

* Slice of blue agate

* Short string with keychain loops at each end

Back compartment of main bag:

* Tampons (one light, one medium)

* Menstrual pad

* Knot-tying instructions

* Foil blanket

* Wet wipes (~8 - 10; surely dried out by now, but could be reactivated with a bit of water)

Medkit pouch:

* Assorted band-aids (2 knee, 2 medium, 3 medium-small)

* Dimenhydrinate (2x)

* Loperamide (1x)

* Desloratadine (2x)

* Restaurant salt packets (3x)

* Mirror, with shitty (but loosely correct) compass attached

* Signal whistle

* Comb (less weight than the mini hairbrush)

Rear pouch:

* LifeStraw Flex water filter, with backwashing syringe, (optional) intake pouch, and instructions

* Tourniquet

* Good Manner size small KF94s (2x)

* Good Manner size medium KF94 (I don't wear this size: it's only there in case I need to give one to someone else)

* Rain poncho (I replaced my (heavier) pocket umbrella with this as an experiment in whether it would be more useful relative to its weight, determined it wasn't, but now I can't find where the umbrella went)

* Paracord bracelet (not sure how many feet)
