yeah, in the original post I was mostly thinking of the model where I end up with nothing to do unless I speed up a task (by spending premium currency) or buy the ability to do more things in parallel (with premium currency) and the ability to get premium currency via normal play is either none or so limited I end up in the same 'can't do anything but wait' situation soon enough. Since I want mobile games to be a quick distraction when I'm bored rather than something I need a distraction from while I'm waiting, they totally fail their purpose.
This is not every mobile game that uses microtransactions, but it's a large share of the ones I end up playing, for some reason or another.
