Two dreams later I had a fun time riding a Segway-like thing around a mall, so that's something.

(Trusty dream respirator was not a plot point (and my sense of touch doesn't run in the background in dreams, so I can only feel a mask on my face if I'm paying attention to it), but I infer it was there by my lack of concern regarding the mall's air quality.)
