I have decided *not* to make another attempt at allergy-med testing today, because I managed to get a flu shot and I didn't want that confounding anything.
Well, I say "managed". It was vastly easier and smoother than last year. I signed up for the nearest pharmacy's waiting list online, they sent me an email a couple days later announcing that they had opened general-population appointment bookings, I filled out an online form, the form offered me a wide variety of appointment times including many on November 1st (the first day of general-population flu-shot rollout; the October supply was dedicated to high-risk people such as my parents), I walked over at the scheduled time, they took me right in and confirmed that I was indeed here for flu and not COVID-19 (not that I would have said no to a COVID booster, if I were eligible) and gave me the appropriate vaccine. I wandered around the aisles for 10 minutes, places where a staff member would quickly notice if I collapsed from anaphylactic shock, and then I was on my way. Not only was it smoother than last year, it was smoother than the 2010s.
